CASTING

FILM & TV

Vivace Theatre School Glasgow

Film and TV Casting at Vivace Theatre School

For developing performers the value of working on professional productions, auditioning for casting directors or even spending a day on set as an extra is immeasurable. It puts practise in the rehearsal room into context, motivates and focuses and reveals a whole new approach to performing which is worlds apart from stage work.

In recent years our students have worked in advertising with big brands, on short films such as The Magic Box which won Indie Demand Short Film of The Year, in professional stage productions including Lord of the Flies by Matthew Bourne in Glasgow's Theatre Royal and Peter Pan at Glasgows Kings Theatre and in many TV productions.

We are always keen to offer our students opportunities to work on a professional level and progress their skills.

Examinations & Professional Qualifications Offered

Vivace Theatre School offer students the opportunity to gain professionally recognized qualifications through the London Academy of Music And Drama (www.lamda.org.uk ), the London College of Music (http://mercury.tvu.ac.uk/lcmexams ), and the British Association of Teachers of Dance (www.batd.co.uk). These exams are entirely optional. This enables students who are attending the classes for enjoyment to opt out and those interested in pursuing careers in performing arts can benefit from sitting grades in their chosen subject.

The desire to achieve each grade is a great motivator and encourages students to self assess and strive to improve in areas of weakness. Furthermore the reputable and established examination boards used by the school have all been by the Qualification and Curriculum Authority and this allows candidates to use their graded exams in Singing, Dance and Acting to improve their UCAS score when applying for university.
