Summer School 2015

SHREK The Musical running 27th-31st July and 3rd-7th Aug for young people 5-18 years...

In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre shows up to rescue a feisty princess. What happened to the handsome prince she had been promised?? Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek.

This is a BIG show and it will no doubt present challenges for our cast as well as lots and lots of wonderful opportunities to learn about performing so prepare to act, sing, dance, meet new friends and put on a magical show in just 5 days!

 

Structure

 

Rehearsals will take place in the VTS studios at 243 Sauchiehall St. You will have four classes each day – 2 acting classes, a singing class and a dance class. You will work on performance pieces from Monday through to Thursday. Friday morning is a technical rehearsal Friday afternoon is the performance. Classes begin at 10.00am and finish at 4.00pm. Students can be dropped off from 8.00am onwards and collected as late as 5.30pm in an effort to accommodate working parents.

 

Enrolling

 

The course costs £95 (£40 of which is required as a deposit to secure your place. The balance is not required till the week before the course begins.) Early booking before end of June 2014 receive an 'early bird' rate of just £80. Places are extremely limited and issued on a first come first served basis.
